Our literacy curriculum is taught in an integrated way within the main thematic lesson. We anticipate parents will continue literacy practice at home.

The literacy curriculum includes

• Writing: Handwriting; Spelling; Grammar; Composition; Creative writing; Writing to purpose. In addition to developing a good cursive handwriting style, we also use form drawing. We encourage the use of colour in the children's work and the use of word processing when developmentally appropriate.  

• Speaking and Listening: Understanding; speech, recitation and presentations 

• Reading and comprehension
