A Unique Learning Approach
Nurturing Young Minds with Love and Compassion
The aim of Abide's learning hub is to sow seeds towards freedom. Our approach is centred on contemplative learning, fostering a process of transformation and the development of wisdom and compassion. We work in close partnership with parents, who we greatly respect as the child's first and most important teacher. Our aim is to support parents who chose to home educate their children by offering our wholesome learning activities.
We aspire to nurture an all-round development of children: their body, heart and mind. It is important for us to offer our support to parents in educating their children with three overarching aims:
-
To re-awaken our children to their innate goodness
-
To develop in children the capacity for clear thinking, analytical skills, grounded in understanding a greater view of reality
-
To nurture in children the capacity for self-reflection, awareness and mindfulness
-
To keep children connected with awe and wonder as a healthy and beautiful aspect of their their being
Nurturing Childhood
A Unique Journey of Children
We, at Abide, aspire to support families who take the less travel road and home educate their children. Through our learning programmes we can contribute to this journey of of raising responsible, creative and kind human beings who can think for themselves. Abide offers an environment for children to learn in a way that inspires them. Their hearts and minds are nurtured by the content of our curriculum and experiential learning, which encourages enquiry, questioning, and seeing things from different perspectives. Our aim is to support families in educating their children to be free thinkers, capable of actions that are driven by love, kindness and compassion for all.
Our homeschool applies the Abiding Heart Education curriculum. We bring together contemplative and transformative learning by bringing together understanding, experiencing, and integrating. Our approach gives equal weight to the intellectual (head) affective (heart), and doing (hands) domains. This way of learning places the emphasis on developing wisdom and compassion that is to be lived in the class and in our personal life.
Empowering Children with Wisdom
We believe that the fusion of sense of place, heritage, contemplative and mindfulness curriculum fused together with our experiential curriculum can help children thrive and feel empowered to progress on the path towards inner freedom.
We believe that being present with each child and therefore we choose to have 4 to 8 children in each learning group, divided into four different age appropriate group.
